Treetop Quest Ziplines

Forty feet up in a oak canopy at Explore Park, the Blue Ridge opens below you and the next platform waits across a wobbling rope bridge. Treetop Quest is an aerial adventure park on the Blue Ridge Parkway where ziplines, rope bridges, and climbing obstacles thread through the forest between 40 and 60 feet off the ground. Roanoke remade itself twice — first when the Norfolk and Western Railway turned a crossroads called Big Lick into a railroad boomtown in the 1880s, then again in the 21st century when manufacturing left and the city pivoted hard to its location in the mountains. The 26 miles of greenways, the outdoor recreation marketing, the rebranding around Blue Ridge access — that's the second reinvention talking. Treetop Quest is part of that effort: a way to get visitors off the Parkway overlooks and into the canopy itself. The park runs multiple difficulty levels. Kids' courses stay lower and simpler. Black-diamond routes demand real problem-solving aloft. The highest platforms frame Blue Ridge views between the leaves. Reservations are recommended; walk-ins get on if there's space. Minimum age and weight requirements apply. The park closes in winter and reopens in spring. Allow two to three hours for the full course — longer if you're working through fear or figuring out a tricky traverse. You'll earn the views.
