In February of 1853, a Norwegian-born Moravian evangelist named Andreas Iverson walked north over the ice from Green Bay to found what became Ephraim — and the church he built there became the first on the Door County peninsula. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, it still holds Sunday services.
