Christiana Campbell's Tavern

George Washington's diary records multiple visits to the original Christiana Campbell's Tavern during his time at the Virginia General Assembly; the reconstructed tavern operates on the same site behind the Capitol building and specializes in colonial-era seafood dishes reflecting the Chesapeake Bay food tradition. It is one of the few colonial tavern reconstructions explicitly documented in a Founding Father's personal journal.
