Pismo State Beach

Seventeen miles of coastline running through Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, and Oceano — this state beach is longer than most people expect and wider than most can use in a day. The beach is home to the Pismo clam, hosts one of the largest overwintering monarch butterfly colonies in the country, and still allows vehicles on the sand. Marine life runs to abalone, sea anemones, crabs, and kelp. A visitor center in the Oceano Campground offers exhibits on the park's natural, cultural, and recreational history.
