Lake Delano at F.D. Roosevelt State Park

The CCC built two lakes inside F.D. Roosevelt State Park during the Great Depression — Lake Delanor at 15 acres and Lake Franklin at 25 acres. A wooded campground sits near the edge of one small fishing lake; the park's facilities list notes cabins on Lake Delano as well. Both lakes remain active parts of Georgia's largest state park, 10,874 acres along the Pine Mountain Ridge, where Roosevelt himself used to picnic at Dowdell's Knob.
