John Henry "Doc" Holliday, dentist turned gambler and gunfighter, spent his final weeks in Glenwood Springs hoping the mineral hot springs would slow the tuberculosis that had chased him across the West. They didn't. He's buried in Linwood Cemetery above town, though the exact location of his grave remains uncertain. A memorial marker draws the visitors; coins, playing cards, and shot glasses collect there.
