Seneca Lake State Park

The park began as a municipal park in 1922 and transferred to New York State in 1957. At 141 acres on the north end of Seneca Lake — the largest of the Finger Lakes at 66.9 square miles — it offers a beach, boat launches, fishing, and two marinas with 216 slips combined. The Sprayground water park, built for kids ages 4 to 12, made headlines in 2005 when a cryptosporidium outbreak sickened thousands and ultimately prompted new statewide sanitation regulations for water parks.
