Built in 1869 to replace an earlier lighthouse, the Baileys Harbor Range Lights are a pair of towers set roughly 980 feet apart, aligned on a 340-degree bearing line to funnel ships safely into the harbor. The Ridges Sanctuary took possession in 1990, restored both buildings through the decade, and in 2015 brought the original lights back online with LED lamps. They still function as navigational aids.
