Cape Cod Modern House Trust (Wellfleet Modernist Houses)

Good forArts & culture lovers

European modernists came to the Outer Cape, connected with American architects and thinkers, and built something that lasted. The Cape Cod Modern House Trust, founded by Peter McMahon in 2007, exists to make sure it keeps lasting — documenting, restoring, and reopening endangered mid-century modern houses within the Cape Cod National Seashore, several of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Houses by Marcel Breuer, Serge Chermayeff, Charles Zehnder, and others. Every summer since 2010, the Trust has opened them to the public.
