Chatham Fish Pier

The pier opened in 1946 and has been working ever since. Boats still launch daily from Chatham's southeastern corner into the Atlantic, returning with the catch that goes directly to markets up and down the coast. A public observation deck — built by the town — lets you watch crews unload. Seals know the schedule too, and they show up accordingly. This is a commercial fishing operation that happens to welcome witnesses. Come when the boats come in.
