Mount Moriah Cemetery

The flag over Mount Moriah never comes down — by tradition, it flies around the clock, not just dawn to dusk. The cemetery above Deadwood holds Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and Seth Bullock, alongside Civil War veterans, children who died in disease outbreaks, and three remaining Chinese graves from a community that once numbered in the hundreds during the Black Hills gold rush. The ground keeps what the town built and what it lost.
